This wedding was three different destinations in one day! We started off at The Portola Plaza Hotel to get ready, Carmel River State Beach for the ceremony, and The Perry House for the reception. Sedona and Jesse are two of the kindest friendliest couples you will ever meet. Good vibes all day long, amazing wedding part, and amazing sets of parents. Jesse's ring has the Colorado Rockies etched into it, which is cool because they couple went to CU together! They had a memory box to open in the future... I forget how many years though lol. Anyways, the box had the ocean which they love, and the Rockies etched into it too. I'm always impressed by little details like that :) My first time shooting at the historic Perry House and it went amazing. Can't wait to shoot it again!

What happens when you work your timeline around photography? You get a ton of different locations for your portraits :) This wedding was a ton of fun and one of my favorites of the year. We got to shoot in the park, on the wharf, in the Memory Garden, and a top the Marriott with a crazy view of Monterey Bay. The best part was the walk with the bridal party from the hotel to the Memory Garden. I've never seen a group of girls have so much fun walking 1/2 a mile lol. My secondary shooter was sick for this wedding and I had Haley replace her somewhat last minute! But everything turned out amazing in the and she did an amazing job! I love Michael and Lauren! Seriously, I do though. And it's not just because Lauren is from Ohio and is a Buckeye fan (although that helps)! I did their engagement photos back in January and it was one of my favorite sessions because they are just good people and the end results were perfect. This was my first time shooting at the Monterey Plaza Hotel and it was a challenge but a lot of fun. They had a huge wedding party though and if you've been to the Monterey Plaza you know that there aren't a lot of spaces to fit 20 people. I figured it out though and ended up being a pretty smooth day. I did take a little bit of a bath in the ocean when shooting the guys lol... Enjoy!
Check it out! Never been to the Monarch Inn in Santa Cruz? Neither have I! It's a classy Inn it is, perched on the Cliff's of Santa Cruz. Total side-point, but it's super close to my favorite BBQ in Santa Cruz, Aptos Street BBq :) Anyways, Kristin and Sam are freakin' cool. What kind of bride has a flask... the best kind! This was the first wedding were I used my drone too. So Sam being a pilot, told me I had to name it. I told him he had to name it. So if I'm ever shooting your wedding and you see my drone, you can just call it Shirley lol.
First wedding of 2015 and it was amazing!!! Suzi and Alessio are sooooo in love and it showed throughout the day. The ceremony took place along 17 mile drive in Pebble Beach. After the ceremony a gentlemen randomly asked the newly weds if they would like to use his Rolls-Royce in their photos... that's a definite yes! I decided to use some high key lighting to give those shots a fashion look and it turned out great. The Indian Village was the perfect venue for outdoor games (Suzi had a ton of nieces and nephews), a bonfire, and s'mores. The lush forest greenery was the perfect backdrop with the sun setting into the Pacific behind a canopy of trees. Cheers!
This was a really cool shoot because Monique is my friend and co-worker. She gave me authority to do whatever I wanted during the shoot! We hit a lot of different locations - Marina, Pfieffer Beach, and the Big Sur Redwoods. I did a few different styles of lighting and post processing. I'm pretty happy with the end result. Enjoy!
I love getting to work with the bride and groom before the wedding! This session was especially fun because Lauren and Michael are an awesome couple! Down to earth, in love, and like to joke around. I was meant to be their photographer because Lauren went to The Ohio State University and is a Buckeye, and I don't meet to many other OSU fans being in California. Did I mention that my dad is from Ohio and I use to spend summers there as a kid!? We went everywhere for this shoot. We started at the Monterey Wharf, then Asilomar Beach, Pebble Beach Forest, and ended up on Cannery Row. Enjoy!
It's always nice when your clients have access to something cool, say... a firehouse!? We got some really cool shots, including Anthony taking Jamie away on his shoulder! We took the second half of the shoot out to the forest and climbed some trees. What cracks me up about this shoot is that it was getting dark when I was shooting the ring. So we needed a light source and ended up using the flashlight from an iPhone! :)
Joey and Paige chose one of the most beautiful weekends in October for their wedding. The sky was clear, the weather was warm, and the breeze was perfect. Scarlett Ranch is found deep in Carmel Valley and has a charming rustic barn. Outside of the venue was a driveway bridged over by trees and bushes. It made the perfect setting for the bridal portraits! :)
